Why PDP Leaders Met With Former President Jonathan – Saraki

BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Former President of the Senate and Chairman of the Reconciliation and Strategy Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has unveiled reasons members of his committee met with former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Saraki said the crucial meeting was aimed at resolving the internal crisis within the PDP with a view to have a formidable and solid party ready to face the future.

Saraki in his verified Twitter handle, @bukolasaraki on Tuesday afternoon in which a video showed for President Jonathan exchanging pleasantries with the PDP leaders, said the meeting was part of efforts to listen to the concerns of key stakeholders across the party.

Former President Jonathan was seen in the video saying; “You are welcome,” as he received the Saraki-led delegation.

In the tweet, Senator Saraki said the crucial meeting was to resolve challenges in the party, stressing that; “As part of our efforts to listen to the concerns of key stakeholders across our great party, this afternoon, the @OfficialPDPNig Reconciliation & Strategy Committee is meeting with our immediate past President, H.E. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (@GEJonathan)”.

The PDP Reconciliation and Strategy Committee chaired by Dr Saraki, also has former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, and ex-governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke as members.

Other members of the committee include; former Gombe Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo; former Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema and Hon. Mulikat Akande
