BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the National Assembly on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), has declared that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Territory is completely out of touch with the needs and realities of the residents of the Abuja.
Senator Kingibe pointedly said that the people of the FCT resent Wike and his style of administration that is laced with so much arrogance and lack of consultation with the people.
She particularly said that residents of Abuja are gearing up to send a clear message to Wike and to prove to him that the people matter during the forthcoming Atrea Councils elections.
Senator Ireti Kingibe, who stated these when she featured on Channels Television’s programme; ‘Political Paradigm’, specifically said that the people of the FCT resent Wike and are unhappy with his all-knowing attitude and failure to meet their needs.
In the words of Kingibe; “The Area Councils polls will serve as a litmus test and a form of referendum on Wike’s tenure as minister.
“Wike’s policies and style of governance like an emperor have left many residents dissatisfied. The people will show him who owns the FCT during the council polls,” she stressed.
Kingibe said that the former governor of Rivers State may be holding a federal appointment, but he has failed to win over the hearts of the people.
“The Area Councils elections will tell whether Wike controls the FCT because nobody does. When you walk on the streets of Abuja, you will know the one thing that unites us all in the FCT is our resentment of Wike, the FCT Minister,” Senator Kingibe said.
