…As Turaki-led team heads to Supreme Court
The Nyesom Wike-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Sunday, March 29, 2026, return Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu as the national chairman and secretary respectively.
The duo of Mohammed and Anyanwu in addition to other members were re-elected through consensus arrangement during an elective national convention that took place at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The national officers were re-elected as members of the National Working Committee of the PDP following a motion moved by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central to dissolve the national leadership.
This comes just as the Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the Party moved to the Supreme Court to restrain the faction loyal to Wike from conducting its national convention scheduled for March 29 and 30.
The Turaki-led faction had on Friday, March 27, 2026, filed an appeal against the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the ruling nullifying its national convention that took place in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, in November 2025.
The PDP in the appeal, argued that the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court lack jurisdiction over the internal affairs of the Party.
