Forefront News gathered from a source at the meeting that discussions centred on the festering post-presidential primary crisis that engulfed the party which had created two divisions within the party particularly after the choice of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as the vice presidential candidate to Atiku Abubakar.
The choice of Okowa did not go down well with Wike, who contested for the presidential ticket for which he emerged as a second position.
Forefront News also gathered from another source that was part of the meeting that it was resolved that non of the governors or chieftain is going to leave the PDP particularly against the backdrop of the need to salvage the country from the All Progressives Congress (APC), that has ran virtually every sector down.
According to the source; “We resolved to remain in our party. The issues would be resolved amicably. I can tell you that all the governors agreed on the need to remain and salvage the country from further destruction by th APC.
“In this wise, we shall collectively to work together for the Party in the overall interest of Nigerians. We shall also work to address whatever internal crisis exist and support the party and the candidate towards victory in 2023,” he said.
