You’ll Lose Again – Wilder Mocks Joshua
American World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder says he is backing Andy Ruiz Jr to beat Anthony Joshua for the second time in their forthcoming World heavyweight boxing championship rematch.
The Mexican champion, who now looks slimmer, is just eight weeks away from taking on Joshua in their world title bout slated for Saudi Arabia in December.
A much stockier Ruiz stopped a sluggish Joshua at Madison Square Garden in June and Wilder thinks he now has that winning mentality to do more damage to the Nigerian-British fighter.
Asked where his money will be for the fight, Wilder, who has has held the WBC heavyweight title since 2015, said he is backing the 30-year-old Mexican to do a double over Joshua.
According to him, “Ruiz Jr has all the motivation and confidence that he needs from the first fight.”
“I don’t think he is one to dwell after obtaining a little taste of success. This is just the beginning, especially when you become a champion”, the WBC title holder told Sky Sports.
Further taunting Joshua, considered a worthy opponent to unify the Heavyweight division before now, Wilder said in the chat with Sky Sports that the Briton was not a good boxer, hence his unexpected loss to Ruiz was inevitable.
Ruiz, who is Mexican-American, defeated Joshua through a seven-round Technical Knockout (TKO) earlier in the year to claim the WBA ‘Super’, IBF, and WBO world titles, which would be on the line when both fighters clash in Saudi Arabia. – Agency report
