BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has described Chief Bisi Akande as a great Nigerian patriot and elder statesman whose unblemished public service records are worthy of emulation.
Felicitating with the former Governor of Osun State on the occasion of his 81st birthday celebration, Senator Lawan noted that Chief Akande has impeccable records in public life and as the first interim Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Senate President, in celebrating the blessings of a healthy and fulfilled life for the APC Chieftain, said; “I rejoice with this great Nigerian, elder statesman and one of the founding fathers of our great party, the All Progressives Congress and wish him more years of joy and good health.”
Lawan said, in a statement by his Media aide, Ola Awoniyi, that Chief Akande’s “record in public service and his entire life offer an example to younger generations of Nigerians in the great task of building a united, peaceful and progressive nation.”
He therefore wished him, members of his family, political associates and friends a happy celebration of this great occasion.
