2023 Polls: Shocker For Soludo As Obi Sweeps Anambra Govt House, APC Marks Zero

• APC’s Tinubu sweeps 9 LGAs In Ekiti State

BY ONYEKACHUKWU IBEZIM – An electoral shocker stared Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State as the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, defeated the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the presidential poll held at polling unit 017, Agụ Awka Ward located in the State Government House.

It proved a massive haul for Obi who polled 61 votes to defeat the APGA presidential candidate, who came up with a zero vote score in the unit

According to reports, the polling unit, populated mostly by civil servants and government functionaries among other voters, saw the former Anambra State Governor sweeping the stakes  despite standing directives from Governor Soludo during a retreat in December 2022, that civil servants should cast their votes for the ruling APGA in the State.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar came a distant second with two two votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu also recorded zero vote as Soludo’s APGA

For the Senate, the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate, Chief Victor Umeh scored 49, Dozie Nwankwo of APGA had eight while Uche Ekwunife of PDP scored five and APC marked the register with a single vote.

It’s Big Win For Tinubu In Ekiti

Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has recorded massive votes haul in nine Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Presiding Officer in Ekiti State, Prof Akeem Lasisi, who is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orogun, Osun, announced that Tinubu polled the highest votes in the LGAs

According to him, Tinubu was followed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with Peter Obi of Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) coming third and fourth respectively.
