Alleged Organ Harvesting: David Nwamini Is 21Years Old – NIS Says
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Sunday confirmed that the age of the alleged victim of organ harvesting, David Nwamini, is 21 years.
This is contradictory to the claims of prosecutors of the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife by the Metropolitan Police in London.
Acting Comptroller General of the NIS, Isah Idris Jere, who disclosed this during a Zoom briefing with journalists, explained that Nwanini duly applied for his international passport which was issued after thorough checks by the passport issuing agency.
Idris also said that the documents provided by Nwamini from the National Population Commission (NPC) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) gave his date of birth as October 12, 2000.
The Nigeria Immigration boss further said that David Nwanini was captured for the issuance of his international passport on November 2, 2021, at the Gwagwalada office of the Service.
Senator Ekweremadu and his wife were arrested by The Metropolitan Police at the Heathrow Airports for alleged human trafficking and organ harvesting on Tuesday and later arraigned on Thursday at the Uxbridge Magistrates Court, which subsequently ordered that they should be remanded in police custody until July 7, 2022.
