AMORC Calls For National Rebirth
BY UBON EKANEM, CALABAR – The Rosicrucian Order (AMORC) has cautioned Nigerian political leaders against corruption and primitive acquisition of wealth at the expense of Nigerian masses and the country’s socio-economic growth.
It frowned at frightening degree of self-centeredness and craze for corrupt enrichment among the Nigerian political elite, describing the development as unhealthy to the nation
Addressing a media briefing in Calabar to mark the 2017 convention of the order tagged “Immortality”, the Grand Regional Administrator and President of AMORC in Nigeria and the English speaking West African Countries, Dr Keneth Idiodi maintained that just as human beings, a ‘nation is strong in nothing if it is weak in character’.
The AMORC leader condemned in its entirety what he described as ‘the inordinate ambition and mad rush for ill-gotten wealth among the political elite, warning that it is a faulty legacy that any nation cannot afford to bequeath to the up-coming generation.’
According to him, the virtue of morality is the fabric of every civilized society and Nigerians must in their individual and collective capacity consciously strive to enthrone morals and decency in all aspects of national endeavors, especially in the country’s educational system if corruption must be destroyed in the polity.
Dr Idiodi said the Rosicrucian Order is a Worldwide Educational and philosophically organization of men and women devoted to the study and practical application of natural and spiritual laws for the benefit of mankind, adding that if Nigerians, as a matter of prime importance to our national growth, enthrone morality in educational institutions, socio-economic activities and political pursuits, the country would witness a dramatic re-birth in altitudinal approach to our collective well-being.
He said the current economic conditions Nigerians are passing through is a necessary obedience to the law of cause and effects as governance failure and misapplication of the nation’s fortunes during the oil boom era must necessarily be accounted for either negatively or positively.
Highlights of the convention, held every four years, included a public lecture, teaching its members and imbibing in them traditional principles of the organization as may be applied to present day conditions and needs aimed at enhancing the happiness and welfare of mankind.
