APC Chairmanship: Almakura Remains The Only Option – Northeast Group Declares
BY WILLIAM ATTAH, GOMBE – Ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Northeast Social Media Forum of the party, has described former governor of Nassarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura as the only option capable of restoring the people’s confidence in the party.
Coordinator of the Forum, Muazu Hina, said at a press conference in Gombe, said the Forum believes Senator Almakura will sustain the tempo and wining spirit of the party.
Hina said; “For us as a party, to sustain the tempo and spirit of the winning ways, the likes of Senator Almakura are not an alternative in the forth coming APC National Convention but the only option before us”.
He also said that what the APC needs now is a highly intellectual, mobile and sagacious politician in the person of Senator Almakura to lead it to glory once again as the next chairman.
Hina noted that even though the APC is being confronted with challenges, it should not be seen as weaknesses but, stages of development and success.
In the words of Hina; “After extensive consultation with the party hierarchy, women groups, youth associations, stakeholders within the party in the northeast, the Forum has come to the conclusion that Senator Almakura is an experienced politician, equipped with knowledge and ability to take the party to greater heights.
“We believe that Almakura will offer an open-door policy and will keep to promise to be made in the course of our electioneering campaign coming soon in all the geopolitical zones of the country”, he said.
The occasion also witnessed the presentation of an endorsement letter to the Director General, Tanko Almakura APC National Chairmanship Campaign Organization, Mr. Dominic Mancho,
While accepting the endorsement letter on behalf of Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura, the Director General of Almakura campaign organization, Mancho expressed appreciation to the group for finding his principal worthy, adding that it was an honour and inspiration.
He assured that if elected as national chairman, Almakura would work hand in hand with all stakeholders to promote reforms that are necessary for strengthening the party.
