Just In: Buhari Sacks 2 Ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle with two ministers relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.

Those affected in the shake-up are Ministers of Agriculture Mohammad Sabo Nanono and that of Power Saleh Mamman.

In relieving the duo of their positions, the President also announced the redeployment of two Ministers to take over duties from them.

In the interim, Minister of Environment, Mohammed Mahmoud Abubakar has been directed to take over as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development while the Minister of State for Works, Abubakar Aliyu, is to act as the Minister for Power.

A brief statement read by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, also quoted the President as saying that the process of rejigging the cabinet will be continuous.

However, Adesina’s statement did not advanced reasons for the President’s decision to drop both Ministers from the Federal Executive Council (FEC)
