Apologize To Edo People, Seek Forgiveness – Philip Shaibu Teases Obaseki
The Court-returned Deputy Governor of Edo state, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has urged Governor Godwin Obaseki to apologise to the people of Edo and urgently beg for their forgiveness.
Shaibu, who was reacting to the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in last Saturday’s governorship election in the State, said there are so many people Obaseki must apologise to and mend fences with them going forward.
Speaking on Arise Television interview, Shuaibu said the poll outcome which saw the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, emerging as governor-elect of Edo state has vindicated him as a committed team player.
He said; “I feel vindicated and I thank God for it. I am water, I don’t have an enemy, unfortunately, those who decided that they are enemies, I have always prayed for them to live long and see how God’s miracle continues to work in my life”
Describing himself as a team player, Comrade Shaibu, whose political battle with Governor Obaseki saw him quitting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join forces with the APC, said he is quite comfortable delivering on assigned responsibilities and tasks at all times.
“I am a team player, I am somebody who likes to do my work the way it should be and if I make a mistake, it is a human mistake not out of envy or wickedness.
“Yesterday, I was so excited and happy that I was counted among the numbers that have helped APC take power in Edo state, I have also cancelled that blackmail and negative impression flying, that Philip Shuaibu does not win his ward.
“I have never lost my ward, I have never lost my unit.”
Further boasting of amassing the highest vote counts from his polling unit as well as local government, Comrade Shuaibu mocked Governor Obaseki for performing poorly and failing to win even in his local government area.
“Even the governor couldn’t win his local government. I won my unit, ward and local government. Where are the governor’s results?
“Check it! He has never won; we always assisted him. I insist. Unfortunately, when he got the power, he decided to start kicking us around and removing the ladder.
“Hope he learns his lessons. What is left now is for him to go back and start begging and apologising to the people of Edo State and he has a lot of them that he needs to apologise to.”
