BY EDMOND ODOK – Never slacking in preparing young Nigerians for the ever challenging global work environment, Birotojob Training Academy has flagged off a Tech Summer Camp in Lagos, offering children and teenagers hands-on learning in cutting-edge technologies.
The packages include Generative AI, Robotics/Internet of Things (IoT), and Mobile App Development among others.
Carefully designed for kids and teens, between the ages of 6–16, to develop essential tech fluency, logical thinking, and creativity through interactive, project-based learning, the four-week Birotojob’s Tech Summer Camp represents part of its forward-thinking initiatives in preparing Nigeria’s next generation for a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Spotlighting the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of Birotojob, Mr Charles Chinedu Okwuosa, said, “We are committed to bridging the digital skills gap from the foundation. This summer camp is more than just an educational program, it’s an early launchpad for future Nigerian innovators who will lead in AI, robotics, and digital solutions globally.”
According to Okwuosa, the camp is structured into age-appropriate modules focusing on: Coding and Web Development for younger kids; IoT & Robotics projects for teenagers; and Generative AI & Mobile App Creation, using tools like Google AI Studio and MIT App Inventor.
Also speaking on the program, Birotojob’s Head of Administration, Mrs Claire Amuka, explained that the Academy focuses on providing a safe, collaborative, and fun learning environment for every participants.
She further said, “Our aim is to make technology approachable for kids and teens. Every session is hands-on, guided by patient instructors, and designed to boost their confidence in building real-world tech projects.”
Importantly, the camp will close with a Project Showcase Fair, where participants present their AI-powered creations, mobile apps, and robotic projects to family and peers, fostering public speaking and collaborative innovation.
Offering insights on the program, Head of Instructors at Birotojob, Solomon Aiyede, said, “We’ve designed the curriculum to spark curiosity and problem-solving.
“From building their first website to automating smart devices, students will experience the joy of creating technology, not just using it.”
The Program Snapshot indicated the start date as last week of July 2025 with the four (4) duration holding daily from Monday–Friday every week.
The age groups classifications indicate that ages 6–11 will be exposed to Coding for Kids while ages 12–16 are expected to undergo tutorials on AI, Robotics, and App Development.
