It is a black weekend for Kwapre community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa state as suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked the village, killing five persons in the process.

Reports said in raiding the village on Friday evening, the attackers also kidnapped about 30 women as they shot sporadically into the air, scaring residents who scampered into surrounding bushes.

An eyewitness account said the insurgents destroyed houses as well as other valuables before seizing and ferrying their victims into captivity.

According to one Innocent Geoffrey, who lives within the affected community, most residents have fled the area to where they consider a safe haven.

“Right now there is no single person in Kwapre. Everybody has fled the community,” Innocent said
