Ahead of the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, (CHOGM) holding from April 16 to 20 in London, the United Kingdom, President Muhammadu Buhari may begin his annual vacation on Monday, April 9, 2018,

Though Presidency officials are mute on specifics of the vacation, strong feelers have emerged that President Buhari may undergo routine medical checks while in London.

An insider, who refused to confirm or deny the speculations, however hinted that the President’s decision to be an early bird in London is to enable him enjoy adequate rest ahead of CHOGM 2018.

This year’s CHOGM is billed for Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace, and Windsor Castle.

In what eventually turned out to be a medical vacation, President Buhari last year spent about 154 days in London where doctors treated him for an undisclosed ailment.

Before travelling out for the medical leave, the President had, through the National Assembly, transmitted power to the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo as Acting President in his absence.

He returned to the country on August 19, 2017 after being declared fit by the doctors.
