Buhari Names Replacement For Ikeazor, Dare, Others

With the stage now set for the official swearing in of Ministers-designate in their new portfolios, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved replacements for heads of Federal Government departments and agencies nominated for the ministerial assignments.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity to the President, Mallam Garba Shehu said in a statement on Tuesday

He stated that Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed has been picked to replace Sadiya Umar Farouk as Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.

Similarly, Dr Chioma Ejikeme is the new Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PITAD). She replaces Sharon O. Ikeazor, while Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi will now head the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The statement further explained that the President has also send the name of Adeleke Moronfolu Adewolu to the Senate for confirmation. He is expected to replace Sunday Akin Dare as Executive Commissioner (Stakeholder Management) Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

According to Garba’s statement, all the appointments take immediate effect.
