President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly to notify them of his decision to extend his vacation indefinitely. According to a State House press statement issued today, and signed by the Special Adviser, Femi Adesina, “ President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
“The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives.
“Mr. President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes.”
Before now, the health status of President Buhari has generated heated debate among Nigerians. Some had rumoured the president dead, an allegation the Presidency debunked as falsehood by mischief makers.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had described those behind the death rumour of the president as callous and wicked and advised them to seek forgiveness for their action.
