The released threesome are part of the remaining seven girls held in captivity by the bandits since the June 17, 2021, when their school came under attack.
Reports quoted the Chairman of the Abducted School Girls’ Parents Forum, Malam Salim Kaoje as saying; “It took six days of negations in the forest before four of the girls were released to us”.
He gave names of the released students as Elizabeth Ogechi Nwafor, Esther Sunday and Aliya Abubakar.
According to Mallam Salim Kaoje, this new set of the released students arrived Kebbi on Monday afternoon, saying; “Yes they released three of the school girls to us on Sunday evening. They are already with the State Government”.
However, he did not disclosed if any ransom was paid by the parents to secure the girls’ freedom.
The four girls, earlier released by notorious bandit leader, Dogo Gide last month, are Bilha Musa, Faiza Ahmed, Rahma Abdullahi and Hafsa Murtala.
Mallam Kaoje stated then that the bandits were paid an undisclosed amount of money to secure the release of the four girls after their parents sold personal belongings, in addition to a fund raising event where many Nigerians assisted financially to buy the girls’ freedom.
In January, Kaoje confirmed that they were in talks with Dogo Gide after they sought intervention through his biological mother.
It would be recalled that on 17th June 2021, the bandits stormed the FGG, Birnin Yauri, and in the process abducted 96 students and took them into captivity.
