The Nigerian military has successfully neutralized two most deadly and wanted terrorists leaders in Katsina and Borno States.

The two terrorists leaders killed through sustained air strikes of the Nigerian Air Force were Abdulkarim Faca-faca and Bem Bem in addition to 35 others that were equally eliminated.

It was gathered that Faca-faca was killed following a series of bombing raids by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Safana Local Government Area Katsina State where he had commandeered and ruled over.

The sustain bombardment by the military, it was further gathered took place on Saturday and was immediately followed with a mop-up operation on Sunday that eventually ensured that Faca-faca’s men got neutralised.

Further checks indicated that following the military raids which was as a result of the outcome of the meeting President Muhammadu Buhari had with Service Chiefs during which he directed them to show no mercy on the terrorists and bandits, the military adopted a different tactics that swept off the criminal elements.

In this wise, several of the terrorists that tried to escape from the bombardments by fleeing with gunshot wounds were easily rounded up and neutralized just as rustled cows belonging to the terrorists’ slain leader perished.

In a related development, troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with the Air Task Force (ATF), also eliminated the commander and 28 other terrorists of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) as ground troops foiled an attack on Bama community about 66 kilometres east of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

A military source said that the notorious commander, Alhaji Modu, aka Bem Bem, was killed on August 3, 2022, through coordinated airstrikes and operations in the Mandara Mountains of Gwoza Local Council.

Modu, according to military sources, was a popular drug king pin, who later became an armed robber before transmuting to Boko Haram and commanded dozens of fighters in forests and mountains just as Ali Ngoshe, a Boko Haram supervisor, who coordinated attacks from caves in Nigeria, Cameroun and Niger Republic is believed to be hiding in the Mandara caves with some few other terrorists.

It was gathered that credible intelligence showed that the ISWAP terrorists had converged in large numbers to attack Bama town that was liberated by the military in 2016.
