COVID-19: NASCO Doles Out N60m Palliatives, Cash to Lagos, Plateau and FCT
BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – Fifty-seven year old manufacturing collosus, NASCO Group of Companies, Jos, has blazed the trail in corporate social responsibility in Plateau State in response to the Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria, as it doles out N60million worth of goods as palliatives, and a cash donation of ten million naira to the Federal Government of Nigeria.Â
Presenting the package on Saturday, the Executive Chairman of NASCO Group, Nigeria, Dr Artist Nasreddin, said the organization feels genuinely concerned with the scourge and debilitating impact of the rage of the Coronavirus on families and institutions.
Nasreddin also said that NASCO also shares in the sense of responsibility and moral imperative of helping one another as part of combating the deadly disease.
He further said; “As part of our corporate support to the unquantifiable work being done by the state and non-state actors in response to the pandemic, Nasco Group, Nigeria, hereby announces its modest donation of items with a combined final retail value of about N60million.
“These items are being handed over in Jos, Lagos, and Abuja to the Plateau State government, Lagos State government, and to the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory”.Â
Explaining that the relief items are in seven categories, Nasreddin said the organization took into cognizance the peculiar needs associated with the pandemic such as maintenance of hygiene, needs of isolated persons, building children’s nutrients capacity, and the general needs of the vulnerable and internally displaced persons.Â
Saying that the Nasco Group is pleased to be part of the journey of the Nigeria nation, the Chairman also noted that the gesture “is consistent with our core corporate commitment to provide quality life”.
