COVID-19: NCDC Returns 300 Tests From Taraba State As Negative
BY AMEH IDUJAGI, JALINGO – The Taraba State Technical Committee on Covid-19 has said that the 300 contact tracing cases recently sent to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Abuja has tested negative.
Chairman of the Committee, Dr Innocent Vakai, who announced this while briefing newsmen in Jalingo, said the committee is pleased that the results from the NCDC which tested negative mark a good development for the state.
Vakai, who is also the Taraba State Commissioner for Health, recalled that 134 travellers, who were intercepted and quarantined have been discharged from the isolation centre after they tested negative.
He said that the committee lunched contact tracing and found 300 suspects whom were sent for confirmation, adding that the committee had equally discharged all the 18 cases at quarantine centere. According to the Taskforce chairman; “There is no single active case in the state. We called on the people of the state to comply with the lockdown order and other precautionary measures.
The State was declared COVID-19 free after the discharge of the first 17 active cases.
