COVID-19 Update: Nigeria Records 684 New Cases, Tally Now 23,298
- 554 deaths nationwide
BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night reported that with 684 new infections of coronavirus, the countrywide figure has now risen to 23,298 cases.
From its official twitter handle, the NCDC said; “On the 26th of June 2020, 684 new confirmed cases and five (5) deaths were recorded in Nigeria.”
Further statistics showed no new state reported a case in the last 24 hours, just as the Centre disclosed that; “Till date, 23298 cases have been confirmed, and 8253 cases have been discharged.”
On the fatality figures, the NCDC announced that 554 deaths have so far been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
For the 684 new cases reported from 19 states of the federation, the breakdown indicated thus:- Lagos – (259), Oyo – (76), Katsina – (69), Delta – (66), Rivers – (46), Ogun – (23), Edo – (22), Osun – (22), Ebonyi – (21), and FCT – (20).
Others include: Kaduna – (16), Ondo – (10), Imo – (9), Abia – (9), Gombe – (5), Plateau – (4), Bauchi – (4), Ekiti – (2), and Anambra – (1)
