COVID-19 Update: Nigeria’s Tally Now 14,554, Records 681 New Cases

BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA –The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday night puts Nigeria’s total figure of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infections at 14,554 cases

On a day that fresh spike was witnessed in the number of virus infections, the Centre announced that another all-time high figure of 681 new cases were recorded within the last 24 hours across the country.

As usual, NCDC conveyed the latest figures on its official Twitter handle saying: “On the 11th of June 2020, 681 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.”

It further stated thus: “Till date, 14,554 cases have been confirmed, 4,494 cases have been discharged and 387 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory”.

Of the 681 new cases that came in from 17 states across the nation, the numbers indicated thus: Lagos – (345); Rivers – (51); Ogun – (48); Gombe – (47); Oyo – (36); Imo – (31); and Delta – (28).

The also has Kano – (23); Bauchi – (18); Edo – (12); Katsina – (12); Kaduna – Nine (9); Anambra – Seven (7); Jigawa – Five (5); Kebbi – Four (4); Ondo – Four (4); and Nasarawa – One (1)
