EFCC Uncovers Yahoo Training Academy In Benin, Arrests 25

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has said that its operatives at the Benin, Edo State Zonal Directorate, have uncovered a Cybercrime training Centre in the State.

A statement by the Commission also stated that operation which took place on Thursday, January 16, 2025, saw the operatives of the anti-graft agency successfully made arrest of 25 suspects involved in internet frauds.

The EFCC said that based on credible intelligence, the suspects were arrested at an apartment that was being used as a Yahoo academy or training school for internet-related fraud and other fraudulent activities.

The Commission said that items recovered from the suspects include six exotic cars, laptops and phones.

The statement said that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
