Smarting from the Super Eagles’ embarrassing 0-4 defeat by Portugal in Thursday night’s international friendly, some angry football fans are now begging the Black Stars of Ghana for a favour as the 2022 Word Cup flags off in the South Asian nation of Qatar
Taking to social media after Nigeria lost to A Selecao in their latest outing, the fans expressed frustrations at the unimpressive showing, noting that the players clearly had nothing to offer on the night.
They are therefore urging the Ghanaians to wipe off the shame by beating Portugal who are in the same Group with them in Qatar as a face saver for Africa and Nigeria in particular.
A brace by Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes as well as a goal each by Goncalo Ramos and Joao Mario was all the Portuguese national side needed to hand Coach Jose Peseiro his sixth consecutive loss as the Super Eagles handler.
The encounter was part of the Super Eagles’ preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, while Portugal used it to prepare for the World Cup kicking off in Qatar on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
