Fleeing armed bandits booted out of Zamfara forests are reportedly roaming the neighbouring communities in Katsina and Sokoto States with the residents now living in perpetual fear for their lives and property.
The runaway bandits are said to be invading many settlements and villages in Katsina and Sokoto in droves seeking refuge and food for their daily sustenance.
Reports by PRNigeria indicate that some of the hungry-looking bandits are now begging for foodstuffs since fleeing their forest domains in Zamfara, while others have turned to daily fleecing of innocent residents of their food and money.
Residents of some communities in Katsina State admitted living in utter fear with the bandits’ reign of terror as they currently mount roadblocks openly to extort and abuse motorists.
“Their manner of operations now is to forcibly demand money, food, and petrol from the public. Surprisingly, these criminals are not kidnapping people for ransom because mobile phones are not working here”, one community member lamented. – With PRNigeria report
