Barring any unforeseen circumstances, former President Goodluck Jonathan, is set to move into and declare his 2023 presidential ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A former spokesperson to President Jonathan, Mr Reuben Abati confirmed that his ex-principal is moving to the ruling APC to declare for presidency.

Media report reports had indicated that Jonathan had been given some conditions towards consummating his candidature.

It was gathered that Jonathan, who is believed to be one of the preferred, perhaps the most preferred of those jostling for the presidency in 2023, had indicated that he would only join the party if he would get the presidential ticket seamlessly to run for president in 2023.

As a prelude to the crystallisation of the Jonathan-for- president project, some protesters stormed his Abuja private office urging him to declare for presidency.

However, when Jonathan was addressing the protesters, he said he could not confirm yet if he would contest but said a political process was ongoing and advised them to watch out.

Confirming the development in a post on his Facebook page, Abati announced that the former President had accepted to join the APC to pursue his presidential ambition.
