BY UBON EKANEM, CALABAR – Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has thrashed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as being deficient in ideas and having nothing to offer to the State and its peace-loving people.

According to the Governor, besides proving that he has nothing to offer as campaign manifesto, Tinubu clearly showed his true colours in blabbering and insulting people’s integrity as he did to over 7.9 million Akwa Ibom people.

The Akwa Ibom Chief Executive was reacting to Tinubu’s warning that the Akwa Ibom people should not vote for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag brearer, Atiku Abubakar, whom he insinuated would readily sell off their palm trees and run to hibernate in Dubai.

Governor Emmanuel, who spoke at the inauguration of newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen and Members of Boards and Commissions, as well as a Transition Committee in Government House, Uyo on Monday evening, said it was unfortunate that Tinubu has nothing to bring to the table for Nigerians, hence his decision to abuse people and rain insults at all his presidential campaign rallies.

Insisting that he would not be dragged into Tinubu’s arena of public abuses, the Governor wondered thus; “If it is possible for any Akwa Ibomite to go to Lagos that Tinubu stays or the actual State that he hails from, to insult him in like manner and still be allowed to safely return home?

“But here, our people at the Stadium, including some State Governors just laughed and applauded him. It is sad that Tinubu, who was granted State-owned facilities such as the airport, security, stadium, and a good atmosphere to come in and sell his manifesto, ended up coming to insult the integrity of over 7.9 million Akwa Ibom people.

“What makes him think he will govern Nigeria? If I reply him now, people will call me and say, haba oga you are not like that. But I will reply him one day. There is nothing like ‘emilokan’ (it is my turn) here, Nigeria is in God’s hands.”

Udom, who chairs the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, urged Tinubu to learn good manners from Atiku would not abuse any governor whenever he visits any state for his campaign rally.

For the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, the governor appreciated them for accepting the onerous task of service and urged them to be not only good ambassadors, but also working hard to raise the bar of leadership

He said such positive energy will encourage productivity and promote good working relationships with subordinates in the service for the overall interest of the state.

Recalled that the APC candidate had while addressing party supporters during his campaign rally at the Nest of Champions International Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, deployed pidgin English to describe Governor Udom as a “boy” who brought the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to the State

Talking to the lively crowd, the former Lagos State Governor threatened; “Akwa Ibom, that Boy wey bring Atiku here, wey de call himself Governor, tell him enough is enough!

“He lives in my backyard in Lagos, If no be say we be one, I would have driven him home. You see that mansion he is living, I would just use lizards, pigeons and scorpions and put inside.”
