Governor Alia Makes New Appointments, Constitute Boards

‎Governor of Benue State, Rev.  Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has approved new appointments into various offices and statutory boards of some Commissions in the State.

Governor Alia said the appointments are part of his administration’s determination to strengthen governance structures and drive sustainable development across the state.

A statement by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, stated that the appointments, which take immediate effect, included; Linda Ene Agada – Special Adviser on MSMEs/Microfinance, Hon. James Tor – Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation & Special Duties, Dr. Shadrach Ukuma – Director-General, Arts, Culture & Tourism and Tivlumun Bulya – Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly Matters.

‎The statement also said that for the Benue State Pension Commission, Governor Alia approved the appointment of the following persons as Chairman and members of the Board.

They included; Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas – Chairman, Comrade Umaja A. Alloysius – member, Asen Sambe – member, Special Adviser, Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs – member, Commissioner for Finance – member, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission – member, Head of Service – member, and the Director-General, Benue State Planning Commission – member.

‎Similarly, the Governor also approved the appointment of some persons as Chairman and members of the Board of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC).

They are: ‎Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa – Chairman, ‎Andrew Aondofa Chila – member, ‎Ashi Iortyom Donald – member, ‎John Ochonye Oyishoma – member, ‎Commissioner for Trade & Industry – member, ‎and the Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General of the State – member.

‎The statement also stated that for the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), the Chairman and members of the Board as appointed by the Governor are as follows: ‎Ande Clement Shianti – member, Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah – member, ‎Elizabeth Onekele – member, ‎representative of the State Ministry of Finance – member, and the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture – member

‎Governor Alia urged the newly appointed officials to bring their wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism to bear in the discharge of their duties.

‎‎He urged the appointees to see their positions as a call to service, assuring that his administration remained resolute in delivering on its mandate to transform Benue State for the benefit of all.
