Unknown Gunmen in Benue State have left family members writhing in pain and sorrow after killing an SS3 female student of Saint Monica’s Girls’ Secondary School in Otukpo Local Government Area of the State.
According to family sources, the victim, Charity Eze, was fell by the gunmen’s bullet at about 10pm on Friday, June 10, 2022, at her residence located on No 38, Idikwu Road in Otukpo.
Reports indicated that the student had gone out to remove washed clothes on a line within their compound when two gunmen scaled the fence to pump several bullets on the head.
However, craving anonymity, the family insider said; “The younger sister, who witnessed the incident, reported that the gunmen on sighting the victim, shot at her severally and thereafter told her that, ‘We are coming for your father, and this is our message (pointing at the corpse of her sister)’ to her.”
The source said it is quite sad that the deceased, who was writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), had her dreams cut short by criminal elements in such a dastardly manner.
Meanwhile, an official confirmation of the unfortunate incident was still being expected from the Benue State Police Command.
However, when contacted on phone, the Command’s spokesperson, Catherine Anene, claimed to be away from office and therefore unavailable to speak on the particular issue at the time of filing this report.
