Popular activist, Comrade Omoyele Sowore has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike diverted $300 million meant for Ogoniland’s remediation and development.
Additionally, Sowore has vowed to continue exposing Wike’s alleged sleazes until the former governor of Rivers State is brought to justice or justice is brought to him for the “unprecedented looting, killings, and destruction” he has wrought on Nigerians across board.
He further alleged that the former governor of Rivers State, channelled the said funds into the construction of a chain of supermarkets in Port Harcourt known as HyperCity Supermarkets.
Sowore, who is the Convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, assured that he would continue pressing for accountability.
In a post on X, Sowore alleged that the matter was referenced in a document presented by an Ogoni delegation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa earlier last week.
According to Sowore; “The revelation is that thieving Nyesom Ezenwo Wike diverted $300 million earmarked for Ogoniland’s remediation and development.
“Reports indicate that Nyesom Ezenwo Wike funnelled the funds into constructing a chain of supermarkets in Port Harcourt, known as ‘HyperCity Supermarkets,” he alleged.
The FCT Minister is yet to respond to the allegations made by Sowore.
