INEC Chairman Assures Of Credible Anambra Governorship Poll

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu has assured that everything had been put in place for the conduct of credible, free and fair Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 18, 2017.
Mahmood, who gave the assurance at a Forum organized by INEC with stakeholders for the Anambra governorship election in Awka, announced that the distribution of non-sensitive materials would commence on Thursday, adding however that the distribution of sensitive materials would arrive the Anambra State through Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on Thursday.
The INEC boss said; “I will like to use this opportunity to declare as untrue the earlier claim by some people that sensitive materials for this election were uncovered in a hotel in Awka.
“The sensitive materials will arrive through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, and will be escorted like money to Awka by the Central Bank escort team on Thursday.”
