Kidnapped Bauchi Former Legislator Hassan Ningi Regains Freedom

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI – Abducted former member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulmumuni Hassan Ningi, who was kidnapped six days ago in Bauchi by unidentified gunmen has regained his freedom.

Hassan Ningi was released by his abductors after spending days in their hands at an unknown destination.

News of his release and return home to his family was made known to our correspondent by member of his family vide telephone conversation saying that Hassan Ningi was released on Wednesday evening and got back home at about 11pm from an unknown destination where he was kept by the kidnappers while negotiation for his release lasted.

The family member however refused to say if any ransom was paid or not as he only said; “we are only grateful to Allah that our brother is back home hale and hearty even though he is traumatic due to the experience”.
He added that the next thing now is to give him the required medical attention in order to make sure that he is okay.

He further said; “We will also ensure that he is psychologically stable before he returns to his business”.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Police Command in Bauchi to the development did not yield any result as several calls put through to the PPRO, DSP Ahmed Wakili were not responded to neither did he reply to the SMS sent to his phone number as of the time of filing this report.

Hassan Ningi was believed to have been abducted on Sunday night on his way home from his business along BSADP quarters by Isa Yuguda guest house.
