The Pioneer Provost, College of Education (Technical), Kabba in Kogi State, Chief Oshadumo J.O.T. Oshadumo, abducted by some bandits more than a week ago, has died in a crossfire between his abductors and vigilantes groups in the State.
Oshadumo was kidnapped two Sundays ago when gunmen attacked the ECWA church in Okedayo-Kabba, Kogi State, in an incident where one person was killed, while his wife and some students sustained gunshot wounds.
Reports by Vanguard newspaper said the vigilantes’ group had trailed the kidnappers to a forest around Ogori community in Kogi Central Senatorial district where they engaged them in a gun duel.
It was gathered that during the hot exchange of fire between the kidnappers and the vigilantes, Chief Oshadumo was unfortunately struck by stray bullets.
His body, recovered by the vigilantes, has already been deposited at the Ogori General Hospital.
Oshadumo’s abduction took place barely seven days after the prison attack at Federal Minimum Correctional Centre and four days after three poultry farmers were abducted in their farm, all within the same community.
The wife of late Oshadumo and the students, shots during the Sunday service attack, are still recuperating in an undisclosed hospital in Logoja, the Kogi state capital
