Maryamu And Yakubu Foundation Provides World Class Skills
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – A Non-Governmental Organization on the aegis of Maryamu and Yakubu Skills Development and Educational Foundation, has said that its trainers in the training of the 2018 National Industrial Skills Development Programme are of international standard.
The instructors, who led about 20 trainers on three months training in Aluminum and Fabrication, assured that their products from Maryamu and Yakubu Skills Development and Educational Foundation can compete favourably with their counterparts in any part of the globe.
Engr. Felix Michael, an instructor with the Foundation, said that the NGO has all the necessary equipment and conducive learning environment with qualified instructors for anyone who wants to make a mark in any skill being provided at the center.
He added, “l can boldly say without contradiction that Maryamu and Yakubu Skills Development and Educational Foundation has what it takes for anyone who desires to stand out in any skill provided in the center to be made known because of the machines and the instructors that are carefully selected based on merit irrespective of where you come from but must meet the standard set for the center.”
An instructor in Welding and Fabrication at the Foundation, Engr. Samson Markus also said that all that is needed for the theoretical and practical aspect have been provided with every needed incentive for excellent performance for the instructors and students.
Some of the trainees, Caleb Noah and Adamu Wayo, testified of their readiness to put in practice what they have learned, assuring that very soon they would become employers of labour.
300 persons that were trained in Aluminum and Fabrication, Bakery, Photography and Catering graduated from a three month intensive training organized by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP) in Kaduna.
Speaking to the graduands on the occasion, Malam Mohammed Atiku, a Deputy Director with the ITF, who represented the Director General, Sir Joseph N. Ari, said the program is aimed at reducing youth restiveness in the country.
He charged the beneficiaries to use their training to develop their community, adding that over 90% of those that graduated had been able to earn reasonable income in their chosen careers.
In a goodwill message, the Kaduna state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Daniel Danauta, said that the graduands have been put in a position to better their lives and those of others in the state and therefore charged them to within one year multiply their training by engaging others as apprentice in their locality.
Also speaking, Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna, who was represented by the State Commissioner For Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mrs Ruth Alkali, called on the beneficiaries to utilize their skills in developing the state.
Governor el-Rufai assured that the state government would intensify efforts by improving the lots of youths and women in the state to achieve the goal of making them more relevance in all spheres of life.
