Medical Vacation: Saraki, Dogara visit Buhari in London
The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, have now joined the growing list of officials endorsed by the Presidency to visit recuperating President Muhammadu Buhari in London, the United Kingdom.
President Buhari, who has been away for about 102 days on medical vacation, received the nation’s two top lawmakers in Abuja House, London on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
The two-man delegation’s visit was announced in a message and picture posted on the twitter handle, Presidency Nigeria @NGRPresident.
This latest visit makes it the fifth by officials of government since the President left the country to the United Kingdom on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo led the way on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 followed by the APC chieftains delegation, including some APC Governors, led by its National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on Sunday July 23, 2017. The next round of visit was undertaken on Sunday, July 26 by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) led by its Chairman and governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, comprising six governors, one selected from each geo-political zone. On the team were Governors of Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Kano, Benue, Borno and Ebonyi States
Next on the line was the President’s media team led by Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed that jetted out to London on Saturday, August 12, 2017 with the Special Adviser, Femi Adesina saying that the President has learnt to obey doctor’s orders.
