BY EDMOND ODOK – An Abuja-based capacity-building organisation, Media Health Foundation (MHF) is offering to boost the capacity of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) seeking access to grants from donors to strengthen their activities in Nigeria.

Focused on addressing the funding difficulties faced by NGOs in handling their projects and missions, the MHF, with its proven finding results and funding consultancy over the years, is giving out a 50 percent discount to the first 10 NGOs that would be listed for the service this summer.

According to the Foundation’s Brand and Content Manager, Maryanne Kooda, the service packages are to ensure organisations understand and follow the pattern of well-written proposals and presentations on what they do and the sustainability mechanisms put in place to drive their activities with a transparent process in financial resources’ utilisation.

In providing grant writing services for nonprofit and for-profit organizations as professional business consultants and experienced grant writers, the MHF said the package will make beneficiaries favourably compete for both private and government grants and funding.

“It is imperative to mention that most NGOs have genuine courses to contribute to the socio-economic lives of Nigerians. However, when these NGOs need support from donor agencies they do not receive anything from them because it has been discovered that many of them lack the understanding and capacity to properly write a convincing proposal that meets international standards”, Kooda said.

She further explained that this development has negatively affected many organisation with frustration setting in due to no response or rejection by the donor agencies, assuring that MHF is out to change the narratives by building capacity in writing acceptable proposals that make accessing funds from donor agencies easy going forward.

For the Brand Manager, aside from scaling up social impact and more, the MHF is focusing on financial projections for viable revenue models that meet SDG goals and nationally determined indicators for development.

“We are experts wired to fix their grant funding issues by crafting winning-content proposals and cover letters for grants for government grants, private grants, foundations offering grants, grants for nonprofits, and even grants for businesses”, she said

Also hinting at occasional work with Project Managers to conceptualize and implement projects in renewable energy and the agriculture value chain, the MHF, with a promise of giving personal attention to service delivery, said potential clients can reach the organisation on https://mediahealthfoundation.org/ and +2349131470291.”
