Monarch Lauds PDP, APC Governance Rapport In Bauchi
Says it’s good omen for development
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – A royal father and Galadiman Katagum in Bauchi State, Alhaji Usman Mahmud Abdullahi, has identified initiatives across political parties’ divide as the foundation of ongoing positive development in the state.
He said the last two years have witnessed impactful developmental strides due to harmonious working relationship between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Executive and All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled state legislature.
Alhaji Abdullahi, who is also the District Head of Katagum in Zaki Local Government Area of the state, described the existing rapport as ‘a good spell’ for sustainable development and growth in Bauchi State.
Speaking when the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y Suleiman and his colleagues visited his Palace on Friday, the traditional ruler urged both arms of government to preserve the current tempo in the overall interest of the north east state and its people.
He also noted that Katagum is presently attracting several developmental projects, attributing these to the resolve and patriotism of Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and the APC-led State House Assembly that decided to put aside their differences in the overall interest of Bauchi State.
The Monarch also thanked the state government for rebuilding his Palace and executing other beneficial projects within his domain.
He equally praised the member representing Katagum Constituency in the State Assembly for his empowerment initiatives, humanitarian services and developmental projects.
According to him, the lawmaker continues to exceed expectations in mobilising resources to execute many projects, noting that his subjects are not regretting voting him.
Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker, Abubakar Y Suleiman said they were in Katagum for a wedding fatiha; Qur’anic Recitation Competition; Ubandoma Football Competition; and formal launch of empowering scheme packaged by Mukhtar A Suleiman, a member of the State Assembly representing the area.
Extolling the lawmaker for his quality representation of Katagum people, Speaker Suleiman applauded his giant strides in the Constituency, noting that the House members were totally focused on fulfilling their electoral promises to the people.
“Sir, all the Honourable Members of the 9th Assembly of Bauchi State are executing many developmental initiatives in their Constituencies. I must say I am very proud of being the Speaker of this Assembly that its members have people at their hearts.
“I spent a day in Katagum and enjoyed your hospitality and appreciates what my colleague and friend is doing to his people. In fact, I feel like staying in Katagum for more days”, the Speaker said.
He assured the District Head that the Assembly will continue working harmoniously with Executive to bring more dividends of democracy to all parts of the State as captured in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Abdul Ahmad Burra.
