The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the FCT, Hon Muktar Betera has declared that his involvement and participation in politics based on his philosophy is all geared towards service to the people.
Betera, who stated this when he received in audience, members of the Biu Forum in his office in Abuja, said that based on that understanding, he will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people particularly his constituents.
While thanking members and the leadership of the Biu Forum for their support, steadfastness and encouragement, Betera assured that he will not relent in contributing to the upliftment of the people for a better and more prosperous life.
In the words of Betera; “I believe, that is what I am born for–to give back to my people and the society at large”.
Earlier, the chairman of the Forum, Malam Mustapha Muhammad, said members of his delegation were in Abuja to specially express their profound and deep appreciation to Hon Betera, who is representing Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya Kusar Federal constituency of Borno State for his exemplary and inclusive leadership.
Muhammad noted that the Federal lawmaker’s efforts in delivering people-focused projects and his conscious empowerment of the youth are commendable, impactful, meaningful and point to the fact that the people now appreciate what democracy is all about.
He further said: “There is no gainsaying that the dividends of democracy you provide for the people have made a significant impact at the grassroots level.
“We came here today, first to pray for your good health and to thank you most profoundly for all you have done and will continue to do -whether, it is development projects, youth empowerment or raising awareness in our area.
“Your achievements speak volumes and you truly deserve commendation, encouragement and appreciation,” Muhammad said the Biu Forum expressed are fervently praying for Hon Betera to reach the pinnacle of his political career, believing that his leadership would bring more dividends of democracy to Nigerians nationwide.
Speaking on the developments in the FCT, Muhammad commended the partnership and needed cooperation between Hon Betera as chairman of the House Committee in the FCT and the Minister of the Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike which is “cordial and productive”, thus applauded and their team work that resulted in the developmental strides recorded in the Nation’s capital.
