BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – Secretary of the Caretaker Committee, All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasarawa State chapter, Aliyu Bello has come hard on political appointees in the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, alleging that some of them mere sycophants and political jobbers.
Taking a swipe at some appointees whom he accused of eye service, Bello said it is regrettable that most of them are only available to attend party functions when the governor is around in the State.
The ruling party scribe dropped this bombshell when he gave the vote of thanks after the APC Caretaker Committee members were sworn-in at the State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Lafia, the State capital.
Bello said for the records, some of the appointees are openly displaying unserious and lackadaisical attitudes towards the ruling party because their appointment came on a platter of gold.
“Because the governor is not around that is why most political appointees are not here because they got it on the platter of Gold”, he said
Bello said those who worked for the party and struggled for the administration will always attend its functions, irrespective of whether they were invited or not.
According to him, “The government must put a policy in place to show the Party is the vehicle that conveys all of us to our various destinations.
“We must be devoted to this party at all times and not only when the governor is attending a function that people will come, it must not be the case”
Bello said that party loyalty must be hundred percent to ensure success at all times saying that the journey to 2023 has begun.
“We promise hundred percent loyalty to our party, likewise we want all political appointees to be hundred percent loyal to this government and the party”, the APC Secretary said.
In his goodwill message, former Governor of the State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, tasked the Party’s Caretaker Executive to ensure unity among them and work in harmony towards the Party’s success come 2023 general elections.
Senator Adamu said being very complex, Nasarawa State needs inclusiveness in governance structures to get the required results, adding; “We are very diverse in tribe and religion; and ours is more complex than other states. So, your ability to administer people and hold yourself in good conscience and stable mind will ensure success.”
The former governor charged the Committee members to work together and shun divisive tendencies that could likely create problems within the party.
“Your strength is in your unity do not allow any factor to between you, if you fail God forbid the party fails. For you to guarantee the success of the party you must guarantee your team work, you must work together, do not try to outweigh the other”, he said
Governor Sule has been away from the State on a medical trip to the United States for over two weeks, with the affairs of State handed over to Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe who only sent a representative to the swearing-in ceremony.
