Nasarawa Assembly Speaker Taunts Other Parties On LG Poll
- Says APC’s candidates unstoppable
Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, says candidates of other political parties will be no match for the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearers at the State local government councils election on October 6, 2021.
He expressed optimism that having made laudable strikes in governance over the last two years, the ruling party is placed at an advantage to sweep the polls through the people’s popular votes.
Speaking at the APC’s campaign flag-off in Toto, the headquarters of Toto Local Government Area on Wednesday, Speaker Abdullahi said the area remains an APC stronghold and the Local government would deliver the chairmanship and councillorship seats to the Party come October 6, 2021.
“Today we have no other party than APC. Toto LGA will continue to remain the home of APC in Nasarawa State. Also those big wigs in PDP yesterday are now in APC and by God’s grace, APC will come out victorious in the October 6 poll.
“His Excellency, I want to assure you that, we in Toto LGA will not fail you and we will deliver APC come Oct.6 and beyond,” Abdullahi said and urged the people to come out enmass and vote for APC candidates during the election.
The Speaker also assured Governor Abdullahi Sule of Toto’s people’s support and their resolve to back him beyond 2023 given his impressive performance since mounting the seat as the Nasarawa State Chief Executive in 2019.
In his campaign message, Governor Sule challenged all APC’s supporters to undertake house-to-house campaigns towards mobilising the electorate to ensure victory at the polls.
Represented by his Deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the governor praised the Speaker and other APC stakeholders for their numerous support in growing and strengthening the party in the local government.
He said; ”I have heard you all, and I have seen for myself, in Toto there is no other party than APC. I urge you to embark on house to house campaign for the victory of the party come October 6.”
Also addressing the party supporters, Nasarawa State APC Caretaker Chairman, Mr John Mamman, urged the people to vote for all the party flagbearers during the election.
According to him; “Let’s vote Abdullahi Tashas, our chairmanship candidate, his deputy and all the 12 councillorship candidates come October 6 for the progress of our party and the state at large.”
