Nasarawa To Build Cultural Heritage Museum Across The State – Gov Sule

BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – As part of its efforts aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of traditional institutions, the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State is to build museums in designated areas across the state.

Governor Sule, announced this when he paid homage to the emir of Keffi, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa on Friday as part of his “meet the people’s tour”.

He said that his administration places a high premium on the traditional institutions and will do his best to promote and preserve the institution and its cultural heritage.

The governor applauded the institution for the support and cooperation rendered to his administration in the last two years.

Sule explained that the decision to build the museums was in fulfillment of a request by the emir of Keffi, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa.

According to Sule; “During my last visit, the emir requested for the building of a museum to preserve the heritage of this institution, we have approve it and will equally do same in other areas in the state.

Responding, an elated and overwhelmed Emir, thanked the governor for the gesture and promised to always ensure peace and harmony among the various tribes and groups in the state.

The governor also explained that the objective of his “meet the people’s tour” was to hear directly from them and to know how they have feared in the last two years to enable him make adjustments where necessary.
