As part of its strategic plan for the 2023 Main Pilgrimage exercise slated for early next year, the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) and the States Pilgrimage leaders on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, embarked on an inspection tour of selected hotels in Rome.

This was as the NCPC vowed that it would not compromise on the welfare of any Nigerian pilgrims before, during and after the exercise.

The hotels are where the pilgrims are expected to be accommodated during the forthcoming Pilgrimage exercise.

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam led the states Pilgrimage leaders and managers on an inspection tour of facilities in the hotels in Rome.

Pam urged them to carefully look out for a good hall where pilgrims would have the opportunity to pray together within the hotel, adding that good facilities in the room, logistics, amongst others should be considered.

The NCPC boss stressed the need to ensure that all concerns raised for the forthcoming Pilgrimage exercise in Rome and Greece are timely addressed ahead of the commencement of the exercise.

Prior to the inspection tour of the hotels, the delegation visited St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican city, the most important holy site in Vatican and Rome.

At the end of the inspection tour of the hotels, the NCPC boss said the delegation while in Athens would deliberate on their findings and make recommendations.

Pam thanked them for their cooperation and commitment to the advancement of Christian Pilgrimage in their various states and Nigeria as a whole.

A statement by Celestine Toruka, Head of Public Relations of the NCPC, stated that the delegation is expected to depart for Greece on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in continuation of their inspection tour of Holy sites and hotels in Greece.
