Nigeria Will Be Safer Before My Exit – Buhari Vows
BY EDMOND ODOK – Less than seven months the the May 29, 2023 terminal date for his eight years administration, President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that Nigeria will be safer and more secure when he hands over to a new administration.
He made this promise at the Emblem Appeal Launch for the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration held on Wednesday in the Presidential Villa Council Chambers, Abuja.
This is as he also announced a N10 million donation towards the appeal fund while urging Nigerians and corporate organisations to support veterans and families of the fallen heroes, whose past sacrifices have kept the country together.
President Buhari praised the nation’s Armed Forces for their efforts at making the country safer, assuring of the Federal government’s continued support and required funding for them to continue in their efforts to keep Nigeria safe and secure.
The event preceded the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting and attracted many senior government functionaries and dignitaries, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Dr Ahmed Lawan; Ministers, military and other security chiefs, among others.
