No More Hiding Place For Criminals In Adamawa – CP Adamu

BY AUSTIN AJAYI, YOLA – The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State command, CP Aliyu Adamu has assured that he will do everything within his powers to ensure that the state is safe and secured for all citizens to go about their businesses without any fear.
CP Adamu, who recently resumed office as the commissioner of Police in the state, also assured that he will operate within the context of the law and respect human right as well as ensure that the rule of law prevails.

He also said that the command under his watch will respect and show compassion and demonstrate professionalism in the discharge of his duties to achieve his said goals.
Adamu, who stated these during his inaugural press briefing at the State Command headquarters, Yola, added that the police will also collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the security sector to achieve its target.
According to him; ”With the police existing crime prevention and detection strategies, I am optimistic that the good people of Adamawa state will witness improved police service delivery that will lead to the reduction of crime wave in the state to an appreciable level.
Responding to a question on the increasing rate of crime in the state by the dreaded Shila Boys and kidnappers, CP Adamu said he is going to set up modalities and strategies to nib the reoccurring incidences in the bud.
In his words; “Since I came, my management team briefed me on these incidences. They gave me the rundown of some of the security challenges in the state and we have mapped out strategies to engage and address the issues religiously.

“We have a tradition of checkmating crime and criminality in the police force. We are going to engage in a massive raid of criminals’ hideout and all black spots”.

Adamu called on all police personnel to ensure they fully engaged in people’s friendly policing that will respect and uphold the fundamental rights of all citizens in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu.
