The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has jetted out of Abuja to Conakry, the Guinean capital for the 2nd extraordinary summit of the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government on the current political situation in the Republic of Guinea.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande disclosed this development on Thursday morning.
Reports from the Aso Rock Villa noted that Vice President Osinbajo had last week participated in the previous ECOWAS extraordinary summit on the political situations in Guinea and Mali.
However, unlike the September 8, 2021 meeting that held virtually, today’s summit will take place physically to further review the Guinean situation in the light of reports submitted by ECOWAS high-level mission to Conakry.
Accompanied on the trip by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada and some other top government officials, the Vice President is expected back in Abuja later today.
More come later…
