Gov Bala Okays New HoS Adamu, 22 Perm Secs

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has approved the appointment of Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Haruna as the new Head of Civil Service (HoS) in the State.

Haruna takes over from Alhaji Aliyu Jibo, who recently retired as Head of the State Civil Service. Jibo’s confirmation as substantive HoS was approved by Governor Bala effective from April 1, 2021.

The governor commended the outgoing HoS for his invaluable contributions to the development of Civil Service in Bauchi State and wished him the very best in his future endeavours

The new HoS, Alhaji Yahuza Adamu, who hails from Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria where he graduated with BSc Economics.

He also holds MSc in Agric-economics from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi and a Masters in Public Policy and Administration from the Bayero University, Kano (BUK). At present, he is pursuing a Doctorate programme in Economics at the Bauchi State University, Gadau.

Until his appointment, Adamu was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Bauchi State.

Meanwhile, the Governor has also approved the appointment of Twenty-two new Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service.

A statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mukhtar M. Gidado, said the appointment of the new HoS and the (22) Permanent Secretaries takes immediate effect.

Among the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are: Jibrin Moh’d Yusuf – Alkaleri LGA; Danjuma Garba – Bauchi LGA; Babaji Mairiga Suleiman – Bauchi LGA; Saratu Musa Jibrin – Bogoro LGA and Shehu Yahaya Jalam – Dambam LGA.

Others include: Hannatu Iliya – Dass LGA; Isa Moh’d Tahir – Gamawa LGA; Asma’u Muhammad Sunusi – Ganjuwa LGA; Idris Saleh Giade – Giade LGA; Bala Manu Gadau, Itas/Gadau LGA; Samaila Ahmed, Jama’are LGA; Ibrahim Adamu Gambaki, Katagum LGA; and Sule Adamu Madara – Katagum LGA.

The list also has the following names: Aliyu Suleiman Hardawa – Misau LGA; Abubakar Usman Misau – Misau LGA; Saleh Yakubu Ningi – Ningi LGA; Engr Aminu Aliyu Gital – Tafawa Balewa; Yakubu Jibrin Abdullahi – Tafawa Balewa; Nathaniel Mu’azu – Warji LGA; Mamman Sale Mumuni – Zaki LGA; Sa’idu Abubakar (Permanent Secretary/ Accountant General) – Warji LGA and Muhammadu Zakariya’u Darazo.
