Plateau Assembly Deputy Majority Leader Quits
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The last word may not have been heard on the recent crisis that rocked the Plateau State House of Assembly as the Deputy Majority leader, Hon Philip Peter Dasun, on Tuesday announced his resignation from office.
Dasun, who is the member representing Pankshin North in the Assembly, made the announcement during the plenary.
Before his decision to quit the position, Dasun was the Chairman of the House Committee on Information.
According to him, his resignation has nothing to do with the alleged illegal impeachment of the Speaker, Ayuba Nuhu Abok as being rumoured in some quarters, adding that it was his personal decision to become a floor member in the House.
