Police Kill Two Bandits, Also Loose Two In Gun Duel In Kaduna
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The Kaduna State Police Command in a gun battle killed two unidentified gunmen at Tabani village along Brinin Gwari-Funtua road and recovered one AK 47.
Two police officers also lost their lives in the gun battle with the gunmen.
The Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mukhtar H. Aliyu, who announced this in a statement he issued on Tuesday said a team of police officers on special duty at about 1830 hours of July 16, 2018, while on routine patrol at Tabani village along the Birnin-Gwari – Funtua Road, were ambushed and attacked by unidentified armed men
According to Aliyu; “The Kaduna State Police Command in a gun battle killed two unidentified gunmen at Tabani village along Brinin Gwari – Funtua road and recovered one AK 47.
“Unfortunately, two Police Officers lost their lives in the incident. However, the situation has been promptly brought under control.
“In their deep mourning mood, some Police Officers who conveyed the corpses of their late colleagues to Kaduna on 17/07/2018 at about 1100hrs encountered an unfortunate incident where there was accidental discharge of gun-shot which hit a female member of the public. She was rushed to the hospital but sadly died from sustained wounds.”
The police spokesman assured members of the public that the Command is presently calm and peaceful, adding that; “As such, people are free and safe to go about their lawful businesses without fear or molestation.”
