Presidency Shelves FEC Over Sallah Holiday
For the second time in three weeks, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting will not hold this Wednesday over what the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed described as inadequate time to prepare the necessary meeting’s documents.
The Minister said in a statement on Tuesday that the Council meeting was shelved because the two-day public holiday to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir left the presidency with little or no time to prepare for the weekly assembly.
In what has become a weekly routine over the years, today’s shelved FEC is the second since President Muhammadu Buhari returned from his 103-day medical vacation in London.
After returning from United Kingdom on Saturday, August 19, Special Adviser of the President on Media and Communication, Femi Adesina had announced that the Wednesday, August 23, 2017 Council meeting will not hold because President Buhari, was scheduled to receive reports on the probe of suspended Director General of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
